in the world of pinterest

Wedding planning in the world of Pinterest can be both helpful and extremely daunting. On one hand you have the Internet at your fingertips and can pin away to your hearts desire. On the other hand, for indecisive people like me it can be a nightmare.

When I first started this process, you could say that I had in my mind an idea of what I wanted. My mom and I always joke around when people ask what the "theme" of your wedding is and I can't help but giggle. Maybe in the world of weddings this makes sense but to me trying to settle on three or four words to describe my wedding would be next to impossible. This results in us coming up with "light, airy, pink, soft, natural, organic....." and on and on. You get the picture.

I never seemed to have a problem along the way with deciding what would and wouldn't go along with our wedding theme and have actually used Pinterest to my advantage. Before I would meet up with a vendor I would save 5-6 photos onto my phone of my favorite things I have pinned. This really helped me to zero in on exactly what I had envisioned and in turn helped the vendors see that vision.

Below I have included some of my top "pins" for wedding inspiration. You can find the rest here!

one hundred dollar leggings

If I would have looked at the title of this post, I think I would have near fainted at the thought of spending $100 of my own money on a pair of leggings. Not, of course, that I would hesitate to spend that kind of money on a nice pair of jeans. I have, and would again.

However, I have met my match and wanted to pass on the most amazing pair of leggings you will ever set your eyes on. I was so excited when I saw that Lily Pulitzer was having a flash sale a couple of weeks ago...I tend to usually score some great deals during flash sales (purses, wallet, tops, etc). When Sarah posted about her Lily favorites I was more than intrigued looking at her pick of the Lily travel pant.

A little back story....cropped pant styles have never worked for me because of my body type (with an athletic build I found they were either too tight in the legs, too loose in the rear, or bunched in really awkward places). I have tried time and time again at J Crew, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor to love and embrace the style and it flopped every time.

Not. These. Pants. I took a risk and purchased both the black and the navy pair to replace a work pair of pants that got ruined last year from the salt. At $30 a pop, originally $98 it was too good to resist. I have already worn these pants twice in the past week and absolutely love them. They are technically leggings but with a long blouse and boots or flats they look just like tailored work pants. And they are so gosh darn comfortable and thick, making them perfect for these Midwest winters!

Long story short, these are back full price on the site but if you do come across a sale, GET THEM. They are worth every penny. Gotta love a hundred dollar pair of leggings....you get what you pay for!

Sorry for the radio silence lately, between wedding planning and work picking up things have been a little hectic around here.

Happy Friday!
